HJR 011 (Truly Agreed) Proposes a constitutional amendment to allow the City of St. Louis to amend charter to provide for county officers
Current Bill Summary
- Prepared by Senate Research -

HS/HJR 11 - This proposed constitutional amendment, if approved by the voters, allows the City of St. Louis, in its role as a county, to amend or revise its present charter to provide for the number, types and terms of office for its county officers. The act exempts the office of the Circuit Attorney from being affected by any amendment or revision made to the charter. The salary and manner of selecting these officers would also be covered as would the powers and duties of county officers prescribed by the Constitution and laws of the State.

The charter of the City of St. Louis may be revised by the initiative provided in the charter.

Provisions are included to cover any officers who will be affected by revisions or amendments to the St. Louis City Charter.

This act is substantially similar to SJR 9 (2001).
